It's time to highlight some of the best new WisdomCards we've added to our collection this week. Our WisdomCards are hand-crafted, doctor-approved research summaries to help you find the health information you're after. This week our Guides were super busy! It was very difficult to narrow down the best to only a handful!
- Diabetes was explored in-depth by several Guides. Catherine looked into type 2 diabetes treatments, diabetes prevention, diabetes and infections, and for the women out there, the relationship between two diseases you might not expect to be related. For those living with diabetes, Jacky give you tips for talking to your partner or spouse about diabetes, while Judy explains how diabetes can hurt your feet and whether or not diabetics should use electric blankets. Meanwhile, Kenyotta looked into the importance of physical activity for diabetics and the relationship of weight and diabetes.
- If you're pregnant, you'll want to check out Susan's WisdomCard on the link between postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder. And Shana looked into the very important issue of bipolar disorder and medication non-compliance.
- What's the difference between ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease? Susan answers that for you, as well as looking into the impact of smoking with Crohn's disease, while Kenyotta researched Crohn's disease complications, traveling with Crohn's disease, and managing stress to prevent Crohn's flare-ups.
- How prevalent is heart disease among women of color? Kenyotta answers that on two WisdomCards about heart disease and Latinas and African-American women. She also examined diabetic heart disease, while Jacky looked into women and high cholesterol, and Judy explains the relationship between type 1 diabetes and cardiovascular risks.
