Lauren began focusing on baby/childhood nutrition after the birth of twin daughters. She features a “food of the month” at her Web site and writes articles on nutrition for all ages at her blog. - @Preventionrd Nicole Morrissey, MS, RD, LD, works as a renal dietitian in dialysis clinics in central Ohio, runs a nutrition practice with two other RDs, and teaches a college nutrition course. - @RD411 Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, is a nationally recognized nutrition expert who founded RD411.com, which provides free, downloadable, peer-reviewed materials, podcasts, and other resources to nutrition and health care professionals. She has a private practice in South Florida and holds leaderships positions in both the state and national dietetic associations.
- @beegood Kate Scarlata, RD, is a 20-year nutrition and wellness expert and health writer who wrote The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Well with IBS and co-authored two other books. She has a private practice in Massachusetts and leads comprehensive nutrition workshops in corporate settings across the country.
- @ICdietitian Julie Beyer, MA, RD, drew from personal experience with interstitial cystitis (IC) and her training to write a book for IC patients, Confident Choices: Customizing the Interstitial Cystitis Diet. She has written three other books as well. She speaks to organizations and IC support groups and gives online classes and webinars, and she blogs about IC.
- @MaryHartleyRD Mary Hartley, RD, MPH, has been a registered dietitian and leader in the nutrition field for 35 years, which sounds longer to her than it actually feels! But nutrition has been her lifelong calling and her enthusiasm only grows stronger over time. She has worked in HMOs, clinics, medical practices, teaching hospitals, universities, and probably every possible healthcare setting helping people of all ages with all kinds of medical conditions to benefit from medical nutrition therapy. Mary had a successful private practice in Providence, Rhode Island for 15 years, and all together, she has had more than 20,000 patient visits for obesity, eating disorders, and medical nutrition therapy for chronic conditions. In Rhode Island, Mary was the preferred nutritionist for over 100 referring physicians, psychiatric social workers, physical trainers, and other health professionals.

She uses a non-diet approach to weight management, using “motivational interviewing and intuitive eating principles.” A lifelong athlete and exercise enthusiast, she “has a passion” for sports and exercise nutrition. She’s also a freelance writer and blogs about nutrition, fitness, and wellness.
