At StartUp Health, our initiative to support and help build 1,000 sustainable health and wellness companies in the next 10 years, we knew there was something big going on with health innovation, but we never would have predicted the depth, breadth and inspiring passion of the fast growing community that is emerging among health start ups. Having the opportunity to meet with so many of you at conferences, our StartUp Health Roundtables, Health 2.0 Meet-ups and in our new community StartUp Health Office Hours, we’ve been blown away by the vitality and energy of so many in this community since we launched StartUp Health on June 9th. To date, more than 650 entrepreneurs, investors, corporations and organizations have joined the movement and taken The StartUp Health Pledge to support the ecosystem; more than 100 entrepreneurs have applied to participate in the StartUp Health Academy and already more than 50 startups have attended office hours receiving StartUp Health mentorship.
But this is just the beginning. We are busy organizing several community events based on feedback and requests from so many of you and we have several big announcements to come. StartUp Health is pleased to have partnered with Morgenthaler, Silicon Valley Bank and Health 2.0 to bring you a combined DCtoVC HIT StartUp Showcase and StartUp Health Roundtable event. StartUp Health participated in selecting 10 healthtech startups that will present at the DC to VC HIT Startup Showcase where they will be judged by a panel of health IT luminaries, and live voting by the audience. Matthew Holt of Health 2.0. will emcee. Following the DCtoVC portion of the event at 4:30pm, you won’t want to miss the next StartUp Health Roundtable "Bridging the Gap between Health and Wellness Entrepreneurs and Investors" moderated by Thomas Goetz, Executive Editor at Wired magazine and the author of The Decision Tree, and Bob Kocher, Partner at Venrock and former Special Assistant to President Obama for Healthcare and Economic policy. The event will be followed by a Wine Reception hosted by Silicon Valley Bank.

New York Venture Capital Association's Ingenuity 2011 in NYC
StartUp Health is proud to be a Health Track partner and support the New York Venture Capital Association's annual conference "Ingenuity 2011". Six healthtech startups from NYC will have a chance to present in front of a large audience of VCs and investors.
